Inclusion and female leadership, fundamental issues for ADI

The relevance of the inclusion of gender and diversity for the development not only of the real estate industry, but of all productive sectors in society is necessary for a better economic and personnel advancement for the companies that make up the real estate sector in Mexico.

 “For women, it is not necessary to question the preponderance of gender in real estate activities, but to demonstrate with well-done and planned work the capacities that we have,” said Gina Diez Barroso, President and General Director of Grupo Diarq,

During the webinar “Diversity in the Real Estate Sector“, she added that greater inclusion of women, as well as diversity in general, generate better returns for companies and provide better results in the short, medium and long term. Among the highlights, he listed:

1.-Increase in creativity and innovation

According to the Boston Consulting Group, which conducted a study of 1,700 companies in eight countries, they found that where there were more women in decision-making positions and their teams were diverse, the performance was 19% higher.

2.- Better problem management and decision making

For its part, Harvard University published a study in which it reported that teams where there are women in decision-making positions, solve problems with greater speed, compared to teams integrated with people of the same gender. He also pointed out that there is an 87% improvement in results compared to teams in which the decision is made individually.

 3.- Better business reputation

A survey by Pricewaters House  Coopers , (PwC), found that more than 80% of the participants said that the policy of equity, diversity and inclusion is a decisive factor in where they will work.

 4.- Better return on investment and increased profits

During 2018, Mackenzie & Co. conducted a study of 1,000 companies in 12 countries, which found that those companies with the highest representation of women in leadership positions were 21% more likely to generate better results than the average.

5.- Greater commitment in the working groups

Finally, Deloitte research showed that companies focused on diversity and inclusion result in higher rates of employee engagement and productivity.

During the webinar, Enrique Téllez, President of the Association of Real Estate Developers (ADI), recognized the work of Diez Barroso:
